Supported Formats

DataWise supports the following file formats: CSV (.csv), Excel (.xlsx, .xls), JSON (.json), PDF (.pdf — tables are extracted automatically), and Word documents (.docx — tables are extracted). Each file is parsed on upload, and the AI engine detects column headers, data types, and formatting automatically.

File Size Limits

The Free plan supports files up to 10 MB each. The Pro plan increases the limit to 100 MB per file. Enterprise users can upload files up to 1 GB. If your data exceeds these limits, consider splitting it into multiple files or using the API for programmatic uploads. Large files may take longer to process; a progress indicator shows the status during parsing.

Data Cleaning

DataWise automatically detects and resolves common data quality issues during upload: missing values are flagged with suggestions (fill with mean, median, mode, or custom value), inconsistent date formats are unified, stray whitespace is trimmed, duplicate rows are identified, and mixed data types within a column are highlighted. You can review and approve each suggested fix or skip any you want to handle manually.

Data Refresh

For files that are updated regularly, you can replace an existing data source by uploading a new version. All dashboards connected to that data source will automatically reflect the updated data. On Pro and Enterprise plans, you can schedule automatic data refreshes from connected files or API endpoints on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence.

Data Source Management

From the Data Sources page, you can view all uploaded files, check their status (Ready, Processing, Error), see how many dashboards reference each source, and delete or archive sources you no longer need. The status indicator updates in real time during parsing.
